Rep. Carolyn McCarthy Votes to Help Solve the Mortgage Crisis

Today, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy voted with the majority of her colleagues for HR 5818, the Neighborhood Stabilization Act of 2008 and HR 3221, the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008. These two bills will help provide relief to millions of Americans and prevent millions of foreclosures.

Rep. Carolyn McCarthy Named as Conferee on Farm Bill

Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (NY-04) was recently appointed as a conferee on the 2008 reauthorization of the Farm Bill Conference Committee. As a conferee, Rep. McCarthy will be part a small group that works to reach a compromise on the different versions of the Farm Bill passed by the House and Senate.

Rep. Carolyn McCarthy presented Joseph Hanson with a Purple Heart in recognition of his service in France during WWII on Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Rep. McCarthy honored Mr. Hanson in her Garden City office by presenting him with the medal before his family and friends.
